Doubt

“But then with me the horrid doubt always arises whether the convictions of man's mind, which has been developed from the mind of the lower animals, are of any value or at all trustworthy. Would any one trust in the convictions of a monkey's mind, if there are any convictions in such a mind?[To William Graham 3 July 1881]”
―Charles Darwin
Darwin's "horrid doubt" was his concern that his theory of evolution might undermine the trustworthiness of human cognition, and the modern evolutionary argument against naturalism (EAAN) expands on this by suggesting that if both evolution and philosophical naturalism are true, then our ability to form true beliefs is unreliable. The argument is self-defeating: if evolution is true, and our minds evolved solely to serve survival needs (not to find truth), then we cannot trust our reasoning—including the reasoning that leads us to accept evolution and naturalism in the first place.
This seems to stick with the double edged sword...but like most things the double edged sword seems to cut both ways and when coming or going.
Sometimes the sword starts to feel more like a Quadratic blade; Quadrant characteristics
Quadrant I: Both x and y coordinates are positive.
Quadrant II: The x-coordinate is negative, and the y-coordinate is positive.
Quadrant III: Both x and y coordinates are negative.
Quadrant IV: The x-coordinate is positive, and the y-coordinate is negative.

This stuff is as offensive and inspiring to me as any one else. I do copy and paste and use this as my personal Detective Corkboard here for others to pull on threads too.

Now back to Darwin. Thomas Payne in the Age of Reason addresses second hand revelation. Most things are based on this and do not make them true, or false. Though even an anecdote passes on information and experiences. Avoiding a bush because of a perceived threat still produces a positive survival outcome regardless of the existence of the threat or not.
This to me seems to be a type of St. Christopher aka Reprobus a giant Canaanite-man with a Dog-Head according to ancient accounts:
fearsome face.
While serving the king of Canaan, he took it into his head to go and serve "the greatest king there was". He went to the king who was reputed to be the greatest, but one day he saw the king cross himself at the mention of the devil.
On thus learning that the king feared the devil, he departed to look for the devil. He came across a band of marauders, one of whom declared himself to be the devil, so Christopher decided to serve him.
But when he saw his new master avoid a wayside cross and found out that the devil feared Christ, he left him and enquired from people where to find Christ. He met a hermit who instructed him in the Christian faith. Christopher asked him how he could serve Christ.
When the hermit suggested fasting and prayer, Christopher replied that he was unable to perform that service. The hermit then suggested that because of his size and strength Christopher could serve Christ by assisting people to cross a dangerous river, where they were perishing in the attempt. The hermit promised that this service would be pleasing to Christ.
After Christopher had performed this service for some time, a little child asked him to take him across the river. During the crossing, the river became swollen and the child seemed as heavy as lead, so much that Christopher could scarcely carry him and found himself in great difficulty.
When he finally reached the other side, he said to the child: "You have put me in the greatest danger. I do not think the whole world could have been as heavy on my shoulders as you were." The child replied: "You had on your shoulders not only the whole world but Him who made it. I am Christ your king, whom you are serving by this work." The child then vanished.[11]
Christopher later visited Lycia and there comforted the Christians who were being martyred. Brought before the local king, he refused to sacrifice to the pagan gods. The king tried to win him by riches and by sending two beautiful women to tempt him.
Christopher converted the women to Christianity, as he had already converted thousands in the city. The king ordered him to be killed. Various attempts failed, but finally Christopher was beheaded

Word of mouth, relationships, anecdotes about pot-holes folks can't see because they are life pot-holes, not physical pot-holes one can easily avoid.
Sometimes you can see the pain or need for treatment on the person petitioning a person about their beliefs. I didn't know the show or but the cat that was being debated on campuses seemed to be able to draw some questions from people that have been through some shid or at least thought they had been.
Everyone has something that is a struggle.
You're time doesn't matter. Meaning it is going to be tough regardless. When a guy enlisted in the Army twenty years ago, is it any less hard or lethal than the guy doing it now? The growing up part has changed so does that make it tougher when a current recruit has to go without his ipad and tablet?
The things you give up. If you are more sheltered, a less sheltered environment is harder than you were used to.
If you don't meet the standard, I know we hate these words because it means someone isn't going to meet this standard and that has to become the genesis for them to feel shid on, rejected, or not knowing what to do with the next chapter or there life.
Sometimes it is solely a patriotic thing like Steve Rodgers. Sure, he got a shot of super-soldier serum and this fixed his physical attributes but what about lying about broken bones or other things less obvious.
Even a slight bump or previous injury can be exacerbated. Like walking with a small rock in your shoe causes you to walk slightly funny, which leads to back pain.
This is similar to the wallet in your back pocket on a road trip or while sitting in your cubicle.
You need an outside source, a trusted friend in the darkness of space, against the backdrop of a cold cosmos that doesn't judge.
Bible verses about friendship highlight the importance of loyalty, support, and encouragement. Key verses include Proverbs 17:17, "A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity," and Proverbs 27:17, "As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another". Other verses emphasize mutual help, such as Ecclesiastes 4:9-10, "Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor," and the command to show love and forgiveness, as in Ephesians 4:32.
On loyalty and support
"A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity."
"Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends."
"Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up."
"A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother."
On encouragement and growth
Proverbs 27:17: "As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another."
Hebrews 10:24-25: "And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works..
Proverbs 27:9: "Perfume and incense bring joy to the heart, and the sweetness of a friend comes from their heartfelt advice."
On kindness and forgiveness
Ephesians 4:32: "Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you."
Romans 12:15: "Rejoice with those who rejoice; weep with those who weep."
Galatians 6:2: "Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ."
On choosing friends wisely
Proverbs 13:20: "Walk with the wise and you will become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm."
1 Corinthians 15:33: "Do not be misled: 'Bad company corrupts good character.'"
Friendship is all you have. Friendship is true love. Not a mask for activities and that seems to be the part we can't say.
